Heavy-Duty Mowing
Brush Hogging in Parker County
Tractor-mounted rotary cutting for pastures, fields, overgrown lots, and fence lines. Not the same as forestry mulching. This is maintenance mowing for land that needs regular upkeep.
Sound Familiar?
Your pasture has more weeds than grass and the cattle are ignoring half of it.
You cannot see your fence line anymore and have no idea what shape it is in.
The lot you own looks abandoned and the neighbors have started complaining.
You cleared the heavy brush last year but the light stuff has already grown back waist-high.

We Mow It
A tractor-mounted rotary cutter takes down grass, weeds, and light brush in a single pass. Most properties take a few hours to a full day.
You Enjoy It
Clean sight lines, walkable ground, and a property that looks like someone actually takes care of it. Schedule repeat service to keep it that way.
What Brush Hogging Actually Is
A brush hog is a heavy-duty rotary mower pulled behind a tractor. It uses thick steel blades -- not string or thin metal like a lawn mower -- to cut through grass, weeds, wildflowers, and light brush up to about 2 inches in diameter. It cuts vegetation at ground level and leaves the clippings where they fall.
Think of it as the tool between a standard mower and forestry mulching equipment. A riding mower quits when the grass gets above knee height or hits anything woody. Forestry mulching is overkill (and overpriced) for basic overgrowth. Brush hogging fills the gap. It handles what a regular mower cannot, at a fraction of the cost of mulching.
This is the right tool for pasture maintenance, field edges, road frontage, overgrown lots that have been ignored for a season or two, and general property upkeep. It is NOT the right tool for clearing established cedar, mesquite stands, or trees over 2-3 inches in diameter. For that, you need land clearing with a forestry mulcher.
Brush Hogging vs. Forestry Mulching
Use Brush Hogging When...
- The growth is mostly grass, weeds, and light brush under 2 inches
- You need ongoing maintenance (2-3 times per year)
- You already did a heavy clearing and need to keep it maintained
- Budget is the priority and the vegetation is still manageable
Use Forestry Mulching When...
- You have established trees, cedar, or mesquite over 2 inches
- The property has not been cleared in 5+ years
- You need a one-time heavy clearing, not ongoing maintenance
- You want the mulch layer for erosion control and regrowth suppression
Many of our customers start with a forestry mulching pass to clear the heavy stuff, then switch to brush hogging for annual maintenance. It is the most cost-effective approach for keeping Parker County properties clean long-term.
Why Brush Hogging Works
Low Cost Per Acre
At $150-$400 per acre, brush hogging is the cheapest way to knock down overgrowth and reclaim usable land.
Built for Rough Ground
The rotary cutter handles uneven terrain, rocks, old fence debris, and the kind of rough ground a standard mower cannot touch.
Repeat Service Available
Schedule quarterly, biannual, or annual brush hogging to keep your property maintained year-round. Most pastures need it 2-3 times per year.
Fast Turnaround
Brush hogging moves fast. We can clear 3-8 acres per day depending on terrain and growth density.
Fence Line Access
Clear overgrowth along fence lines so you can inspect, repair, or replace fencing without fighting through brush first.
Promotes Grass Growth
Removing the weed canopy lets sunlight reach the ground. Native grasses come back stronger after the competition is knocked down.
Brush Hogging Pricing
Simple pricing based on acreage and conditions.
$150 - $400
per acre
Lower end ($150-$200): Flat terrain, standard grass and weeds, easy access, no obstacles.
Mid range ($200-$300): Some rough terrain, thicker weeds, scattered saplings, moderate obstacles.
Upper end ($300-$400): Hilly ground, dense growth, old fence debris, rocks, or stumps.
Minimum service area applies for very small lots. Repeat service customers get priority scheduling. These are guidelines -- your actual price depends on site conditions. Every estimate is free. See our full pricing page for more.
